Both are very closely rated on tyrereviews, and are very similar priced. I have the ZE912s on my car currently but they need replacing very soon. I was going to stick with the 912s, but wanted to make sure before I put the money down. Why bother producing tyres so closely matched to each other?

Cheers guys smile

I'm having a set of 452s fitted to my 4200 on Monday. The guys on the Sports Maserati forum rate these tyres extremely highly. No one's mentioned the 912s on there, tbh.

Ze912 is the comfort longer lasting tyres. Fk452 is better grip but won't last as long.

I've got 912's on my volvo and can't rate them highly enough.

Have to be really pushing on before I start to get worried with them. Pretty good in the wet too.

FK452 = 'sporty'
ZE912 = 'comfort'

Both good for the money.

I am heavily leaning towards the 452s mainly for the extra grip under heavy braking...however having them on the front and the 912s on the back, does that not pose a problem with the rear end stepping out with it having less grip?

Or am I looking at having to swap the front and rear wheels over?

Is it FWD or RWD?

I'd put the 912 on the driven wheels due to their much higher wear rating.

I've had both 452's and 912 and they are both excellent.

Also look into Neutons wink

Fantastic reviews on the review sites, very loved by Saab folks and also very cheap!

Fantastic in the wet tbh, just as good as a premium tyre costing 4x as much!

912s have been my choice for a long time. Fantastic VFM and a great budget tyre. Decent pattern too.
I've just put a pair on the front of mine having got an absolute bargain on camskill.
For more sportier applications I'd definately plump for the 452s though.

It is a Octavia vRS diesel they are going on. I have been happy with the 912s, but after a very near miss on an empty motorway when the car in front did a near emergency stop because she had split something on her lap (after the incident I pulled alongside to see a flurry of paper towels) I am after the best grip I can get from the Falkens!

He's spot on, I went from 452s on the mondeo to 912s as the 452s wore out at an alarming rate on the big mondy.
The 912s have lasted genuinely nearly twice as many miles and tbh I have not noticed any loss of "grip". I am sure the 452s are grippy, and the Mondy does get hustled about, (great handling cars!) but the 912s will be on the car again next time as they wear so much better.

I've had ZE912's on two cars now (one during winter) and they really are good tyres.

They are rated as all weather I think.

Certainly gripped very well in the snow.

I've had 912's on my Focus, good grip all weather and lasted approx 20000 miles.

I ran Falken 454s on my old BMW 530i. They were fine but got noisy quickly and wore quickly. I went back to Conti Sport Conatsct 3's.

Put Falken ZE912s on the wife's old Scenic. They were fine and did the job.

912s grip wise were complete ste but they did have 4mm left when tested. I recommend 452, and over them Vred sessanta.

I had the 912s on my mr2 turbo and found them distinctly average, dry grip is good but wet grip is lacking and it was quite easy to lose traction, They don't offer great feedback either. Very much a comfort tyre, something I'd put on a motorway cruiser if I wanted to save some cash. But definitely not a tyre I'd put on a sporty/performance car, they have now been replaced with uniroyal rainsport 2s which are far superior.

I had 912's on my omega. Really bad, possibly not well suited to a heavy car. Average at best in the dry, really poor in the wet. 452's were better but still distinctly average. Conti SC3's or dunlop sport Maxx are in a different league and worth the extra on that particular car.

On the Golf and TVR I used FK452's and they are excellent wet and dry, they do seem to suit a lighter car.

I have 912s on my E36 BMW 323 and I can't fault them. Brilliant wet or dry.

I did want the 452s but they don't make them in my wheel size.
