Issues with Wheel Balancing
Discussion
I have just put 4 x new tyres on my Mercedes C320 Estate.
The issues are:
- Steering wheel now about 20 deg left when the car is driving straight ahead.
- Shaking through both steerring wheel and chassis.
I have taken the car back and they have had a look at the alignment which apperas to be spot on at the front and 1mm out at the rear. They have straightened the steering wheel. They have also had a go at balancing the wheels again.
I am still getting shaking through the steering wheel and chassis even though they have done a re-balance.
This is really annoying as it is ruining driving a great car.
Does anybody have any ideas?
I am planning on taking it elsewhere for them to start from scratch to see if they can solve it - are there any recommended places in Somerset (near Yeovil ideal).
Thanks

It is impossible for a change of tyres to result in steering wheel being off-centre.
Did they try to adjust the tracking when you had the tyres changed? If so, they could have put it out by "correcting" the wrong side of the car - which is easy to them to put right by next changing both sides by a similar amount.
The shaking is very odd. Any or all of,

The shaking is very odd. Any or all of,
- Wheels not properly balanced after new tyres fitted.
- One or more tyres "not round", which will cause shaking even if the wheel appears perfectly balanced
- Wheel not properly fitted to car.
Tracking is concerning me - I will have a look at it.
Balance - they have been balanced twice now which is worrying. Hard to say regarding if the tyres are perfectly spherical - looked ok on the balancing machine but that does not turn at many RPM. The wheels seem to have been fitted correctly also.
Annoying this one!
