Hot hatch dilemma

Mate of mine is looking for a cheapish hot hatch and has narrowed it down to...

Clio 182 with both cup packs.56k miles.  Full Renault service history and cambelt change.

I have driven neither, but I have only heard great things about the Clio, EVO mag seem to think it's the best hot hatch, so that would just swing it for me. Although that Honda engine does sound lovely!
