Am heading down to Barbizon in France this month, and hoping to visit Reims, Epernay, Versailles, Paris, Montriel.

Am going to be hitting the usual stuff, Reims race track, Champagne tours, Palace of Versailles, but does anyone have any routes (The twistier the better), recommendations, sightseeing, cool things to visit/ do .

Many Thanks,

B.

Check the route to the Reims pits before you leave and don't rely on TomTom. It will tell you to leave at a junction that doesn't exist any more (it's a toll plaza now). We just took the next exit and kept turning right until we found it so can't really offer advice on the best route.

Possibly a little out of your way, but the milau bridge in the South of France is worth a look - awesome bit of engineering and great roads running up up to it, with loads of twisties and tunnels through the mid pyrennees.

Cheers - I have the Reims circuit entered into the TomTom already as a TYRE route - so should be able to do most of what is still around ! - will let you know how it works out.

France is pretty good on any back roads ! , and the road surfaces are super-smooth compared to the cratered roads in UK !

Try Italy then. Makes the UK's roads look like billiard tables (and they have the nerve to charge tolls on the ruddy things too).
