I picked this up from a (slightly pious) post on Facebook - someone crowing about their car's amazing environmentally friendliness...

Can't ask them directly (friend of a friend of a friend) so I thought I'd ask here - what car matches those stats (and, I assume, arrogantly brags about it - as 487 is a pretty specific figure but £46 isn't).

£46 is less than 8 gallons of petrol/diesel but I've no idea about LPG prices (LPG would be in addition to petrol tho so???)

I'm assuming SMART car or something like that but even then, the MPG figures are crazy?

Corsa diesel, 75/80 mpg if you drive a bit like your grandma.

£46 is 33.12 litres (7.29 gallons) of diesel at 138.9p/litre or 34.1 litres (7.5 gallons) of petrol at 134.9p/litre.

487 miles if that's a diesel car equates to 66.8mpg, if it's petrol 64.93mpg.

Thank fook it is economical with such a piddly fuel tank hehe

To think people in times gone by would have put things like engine size, power, 0-60 or top speed stats on their FB status is a great shame.

I wonder how much money they had to hand over to change from their old "gas-guzzler" to this miracle of fuel parsimony and probably free VED? scratchchin

Could it be a Panda? Mine only has a 35L tank, obviously it won't do those MPG figures as it's the 100HP but the diesel could.

We're looking for a car that does 60+ mpg.

My previous passat bluemotion averaged 62-64mpg brim to brim, so i'm guessing theres quite a range of cars that can do that.

Yes, sounds nothing special to me.

My daily costs £60 to fill, and does 650 miles.
