Apologies if this has already been done, but why on earth had the UK not got X drive saloon and estate cars like the Continent and USA? something to do with RH drive conversion? If the likes of the 3 and 5 series came with a system similar to Audi's Quattro, then I for one would be delighted.
Any others bothered? I noticed in New York, many saloons and touring examples were badged 325/330 xi. No diesels of course....;)

I think you may have figured it out, I'd say it's a RHD thing. Think about the RHD markets around the world, only the UK would pose a serious market for awd BMW's and the last time I checked, its not like they aren't selling the RWD cars to really worry about the added R&D costs.
