I am importing a 1970's car from the U.S and was wondering if due to it's age (1972) whether it needs any form of spetialist testing/adaptation to be registered in the UK? - SVA or whatever it is called tehse days.

I have had Japanese cars imported in the past that have had to have the usual fog light etc but they have been much newer cars.

Thanks in advance.

Stevo.

UK lighting and MOT only if it's over ten year sold, so you'll be fine.

If it's old, rare, not made anymore and has most of its original components it might be worth looking at BTI.

Looks like no duty and 5% VAT due to age and condition, result!

Thanks all.
