My lad works away from home, travelling around contract dump truck driving. Presently he is near Hastings living in his fairly old caravan (1985). He is wanting to upgrade to a newer model in a month or so. The van he has now is still servicable but worth very little, he paid £500 for it 18 months ago. Its going down hill fast now as certain things are giving up, not working properly
My question is, do breakers yards, scrap yards or whatever they are called take in old caravans. If not, where do old vans go to die

So your lad drives giant pieces of earth moving equipment and wants to get rid of a caravan

Has he always been lacking in imagination?

Thermite or petrol with perhaps a few aerosol cans places inside for some cheap fireworks

Don't building sites take old caravans to use as tea/card dens?

Give it to a banger boy and go and watch it being destroyed.

Thanks for the answers guys. Should've googled van breakers but didn't think about that. Making it into trailer was thought about, but nowhere to keep it, banger/van racing--no time, no car to pull it with.

caravan chassis are useless as trailers, already tried that myself frown

C-section steel and paper thin, means they can't support any weight.

Sell it in pieces. I got £700ish when I sold my 1989 caravan in bits. The toilet went for over £200. The fridge, water heater, fire are all desirable to people converting vans to campers.
