Apologies for the long first post.
Being lurking here for a while and enjoying what I read.
I currently drive a 2006 Seat Leon FR TDi which I've had since new and is v nearly 5 years old. I never intended keeping the car this long, but circumstances changed etc.
There is nothing wrong with the Leon, but I'm completely bored of it! My mileage has reduced to such an extent that I can no longer justify a diesel in any way. I've just had it MOTd and realised I did only 8.5k in the last year. It is used primarily for my 32 mile round trip commute to work, but some days we use my wife's SMax which is our family bus for when we need more space.
Anyhow, I am trying to decide what to replace the Leon with. I must have 4 seats, so if necessary, the family of four of us can travel together in it. But this will be infrequent. I really to move on to something more grown up and refined than the Leon, and petrol engined. My budget is flexible, but don't really want to spend much more than 20k including part-ex/private sale of the Leon which has 50k miles.
I've come to the conclusion a 330i coupe could be perfect for me. It seems to strike the balance between performance/affordability in the 6 cylinder E92s, and I like the understated styling. I don't mind auto or manual. I'm 30 years young so insurance is reasonable. I would like to buy a car with some BMW warranty remaining so I've been looking mainly at 09 cars, pre-facelift.
Please can I have some pointers? THe best value I have seen is 18.5k for a 26k mile 330i M Sport at a major supermarket. There aren't that many around though. In my situation, and budget, would you choose the same, or should I be looking at something different?
Thanks!

Here's my pointer- DO NOT buy from a car supermarket

Good choice of car though. I drive an E46 straight 6 (not a 330 though), and I find it to be a fantastic all rounder.

I have one with the earlier N52 (non DI) engine

Fantastic all round cars, I downsized from a 996 C4S and never looked back

Good choice of car, bad choice of where to buy from.
