Hello all, looking to replace my commuter (BMW E46 330D) for something newer and am thinking of a 335D/535D but wonder what alternatives there are? So, the criteria are:

1. 35MPG plus.
2. Able to cover long distances comfortably.
3. Be a bit sporty (looks and handling).
4. Be quick (sub 6.5 0-60).
5. Cost no more than £10K.

So, what other options are there apart from the BMWs?

Thanks is advance

Lee

Audi A4/A6 3.0 TDi Quattro will meet most of those criteria IMO, friend of the family went for one and is now having an extremely hard time finding something thats on the same level to replace it with.

Besides the Audi can't think there's not much out there , even though 10k will not buy you much in the Audi range . Lexis gs450h, that starts at 14k iirc and then you get to the Honda accord 2.2 dti, passat 170 tdi ,skoda etc

"cost no more than 10k"

If you've seen a 335D for less than 10K that is not dodgy and has less than 100K miles on it I will eat my hat !

You'd get a bottom of the market 535D for that money..... I'd save for a little longer say 12K and get a good spec medium mileage 535D.

A bit of a curve ball here, what about a Mondeo ST TDCI? I know they are not as quick as a BMW 535/335D but they do seem really good value for money!

OP, 335D OR 535D for Under £10k is going to be tough (without mega mileage).
