Toyota common rail engine.

Does anyone know the exact year that toyota brought the common rail engine out and started using them in the landcruiser ?? It was around 2000 or 2001 but im not sure which year it was. Im looking for a landcruiser and they do around 3 or 4 mpg more than the older engines. Ive read reports on these 4x4`s and everyone rates them so im going to have a look at a few.
