Maserati GranCabrio Fendi Unveiled

The fastest handbag in the West?

"The Maserati GranCabrio Fendi designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi was born from the union of two iconic brands of the made in Italy, which share common values such as craftsmanship and tradition."

No, we don't really understand that sentence either, but it is how Maserati has announced the new GranCabrio Fendi, a special edition that's due to be launched at the Frankfurt motor show.

Essentially, it's a GranCabrio, with some colour and trimmings created 'bespokely' (their word, not ours - not a word at all, in fact) by house-of-posh-handbags, Fendi.

The thee-layered body colour is called Grigio Fiamma Fendi and is a dark grey with an iridescent golden finish on the surface.

The wood trim, meanwhile, is called Pergamena Fendi and is yellow, as are the brake calipers and the embroidered yellow trident on the headrests.

The double F-logo is stitched on the seat, and also appears in the centre of the 20-inch Trident design alloy wheels.

This being a Fendi product, there's also got to be some posh leather in there somewhere, and Maserati obliges, using Cuoio Romano, Fendi's most precious leather of its Selleria line, on the instrument cluster cover, for the gear lever and for the profiles of the floor mats. It also features in the limited edition travel set of luggage and accessories.

None of which, of course, makes the car go any faster...

Proof if ever it was needed to show how Maserati cannot be taken seriously as a supercar maker

The only good thing was the engine which is now out of date

ho hum

So what? Lots of manufacturers do tenuous special editions. Peugeot and Quiksilver, VW and Bon Jovi, Renault and Williams...

Let's not forget Range Rover and Vogue either.

I don't think the Range Rover Vogue had anything do to with Vogue Magazine, unless you could educate me???

Now Range Rover and Holland and Holland vomit

Can't believe you have put Bon Jovi and Williams in the same arguement!
Williams is a brand which would most certainly be desirable for a manufacturer to associate with when designing a car, fashion labels and 80's cheesefest bands are not, IMO.....unless you are a tt.....

If I was the CEO of a large manufacturer why the fk would I want my products to be associated with an overweight, coke sniffing, talentless tt like Robbie fking Williams.
