Wheels slightly lighter at the rear...ideas?
Discussion
Hello Everyone,
For one reason or another (long story!) my rear wheels are a slightly lighter shade of silver compared to the front. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to how I could dull the rears down a bit without recoating? Other than not washing them as often!
Cheers

At a guess the difference could be due to brake dust bonded to the surface of the front wheels - I'm guessing it has drum brakes at the rear (can't see?). It won't simply wash off, it's chemically-bonded on there. You could try a refurb or (cheaper) claying the front wheels (ask any detailer about this) to make the match the rear, or just simply swap the fronts to the backs for a while and they'll soon suffer the same.
Yes they are wider at the rear, nice idea though!
They aren't painted the same colour from the start, I had the front ones refurb'd and had to buy new rear ones which have come in this colour...
They are both squeaky clean, but I guess I'll just have to be clever with brake dust on the rear wheels. It is very subtle in person, or looks like I just haven't washed the front wheels in a fortnight or so...
