Don't know much about cheap sheds but I'll be looking to get one very soon. It'll be my rag around for most of the winter as I'll only use my Mini in good conditions after the amount of money I've spent on it.
I say budget of £600 cheap to insure and good in stty conditions. But I really have no clue what is good and what is a todger.

Can anyone recommend me a decent winter shed? smile
I'll be buying the back end of September or start of October if I can find one.

Thanks guys.

Please don't say MX5, I'm already looking for one but it's not for me it's for a mate.

well I had same problem last winter, so:

3series.... cheap, reliable, and stick some good tyres on you'll be fine.

derv pug or derv stroen

astra. focus. escort

Small stuff attracts a premium, so may as well have a 406HDI for that money

He wants something for winter. Not something that'll die when there's a bit of frost on the ground, and take forever to warm up when it's cold.

BMW 3 series too much in insure for short term because I'm just 20.
Didn't really want a french car as a shed for obvious reasons... the focus doesn't sound bad though. I got plenty of time but I just wanted to get some ideas in.

A4 TDI? This is literally the very bottom of the market but if you can stretch a few quid you'll get a decent one. I know a few who've bought these as stopgaps and just never got rid! 50mpg or more, nice ride, decent-looking and a very competent cruiser.

Though the guy selling this one is a complete and utter tool, clearly hehe

That isn't bad but any clues and what the insurance may be on something like that?
I'd be selling it come Feb so don't want to pay millions.

Well, certainly eaiser to buy a "big" car than a small one at that price. I've been very pleased with my Volvo - seems to have been very well made and after 180000 miles runs perfectly.

Fuel consumption isn't great though but then that's why the barges are cheap.

You're buying a snotter. you get faults with everything mate

Yes, French are well known for making cars that never breakdown oh wait that's not right.

They don't have the best reputation! I'd like something that would work for sure otherwise I may as well use the Mini.

I've seen A4 TDI's like that with similar mileage fetch will over £1k at auction recently. That particular one might be a bargain, or it might not.

Mate, you must be doing something wrong, as I'm 19 with a twelve grand claim against me and my 2.6 A4 costs me less than that! I went for the 1.9TDI because I can insure them for about £800, sorry..

I'm not that sorry biggrin

Stick some good snow/ice tyres on and as it is so light it will be awesome in the white stuff!!

Thats what I'm planning to do!

I bought mine for £500 smackeroos too, so under budget!

It'll only really be a work horse.

Around 6 miles to work and 6 back,

Times of between 0800 and 0900 and finish between 1600 and 1730. Standard working times.

I do have 2 years' no claims by now, but still reckon myself to be quite high risk so it's surprising. Just ran a quote and got £808 for that car.

As for your postcode, this is pretty handy!

I would dispute that "all sheds will cause you problems". I bought my A4 for £950, sailed through two MOTs and all I've done is oil and filter change, fuel filter and spark plugs because I thought it was about time, and the thermostat. She's never failed me once smile
