This thread reminded me. As per the title really, tried a few days ago in a mate's P-reg Mini but his seat is broken so couldn't really tell if I would or not. Do taller people fit in them? smile

Easily. They're bigger than they look inside.

Yep, no problem. I'm 6'4" and I was amazed how spacious they are (given how big the are).

Officer Hightower managed ok and was definitely taller than 6'1" - mind you, he did have to rip the front seat out and sit on the rear bench

On a more serious note, there's not that much adjustment on the from seats, but there are 2 or 3 different mounting positions from memory

I'm a mere 6'0", but I wasn't comfortable driving a Mini with the standard seat for any more then short distances.

When I had mine, I fitted a Corbeau bucket seat on the rearmost mounting (which leaned you right back) and fitted a drop bracket (readily available from Mini specialists) to bring the steering column down to a comfortable level and angle.

You'll fit fine.

I had one when I was at school - I'm 6'2" and myself and three equally powerfully built mates used to fit in it OK when we went down the pub at lunchtime!

I know a chap who was 6ft 3 or 4" or so, and he used to get in one. Don't get me wrong, it looked funny as hell when he extricated himself from it, but still...

There were various different seat and steering wheel combos over the years, all offering varying amounts of room.

However you WILL fit! I'm 6ft5 and can squeeze into all, but for my own car I'd make some mods to the seat frame to tilt it up and back for even more room. There are companies that offer kits to do this I believe!

So, go mini shopping smile

I'm 6ft3 and did fit in my old one. I had the seat extended on brackets to give more leg room and also the steering column dropped on a U shaped bracket. Comfortable enough for 4 return trips to Bordeaux from the Midlands.

My dad is 6 foot 5 and in 1994 the mini was the only Rover product he could fit in. Crazy but the sunroofs in the rest reduced the headroom too much

Re: the Corbeau comment - only my 1275 had this, I was happy either way but the bucket really helped keep you in place.

I'm 6ft7 and chunky sized, and I fit... Wouldn't want to do lands-end to john agrotes in it.

My austin 1300 was my alternative option to a classic mini as I can just about drive that for an hour without dying of ankle agony
