Not a rant, more of a question; does anyone else have the perception that there are more utter dog's muscles running red lights, often causing oncoming vehicles turning right to have to back up? What is it with these self centred gwats? (Apart from being self centred gwats). Must admit, red light cameras on every junction wouldn't piss me off in the slightest...

ETA and the look of anger/insult on their faces when you mouth off at them really fking grates. At least have the humility to accept you're a and move on. I'd have more respect for you if you laughed at me.

It is bizarre how many people do it nowadays. Seems to be catching. Seen many little old ladies doing it of late, quite frankly the last bunch of motorists I would have thought would do it. confused

I can always tell when the car following me is going to chance it if the light changes while I'm crossing the junction. It happens increasingly often.

I can appreciate that congestion annoys everyone, and I share the frustration, but it's the complete lack of awareness that selfishness on one persons part causes issues for everyone else and will inevitable increase the congestion.

To be honest, the complete lack of awareness by so many for pretty much everything that occurs on the road is what really irritates. It's not hard to pay attention to what's going on around you.

Preaching to the converted though I guess.

Haha, reminds me of one time when the mondeo behind me assumed that I was going to hop the very amber light. When I stopped smoothly he had required emergency braking and the preceded to mouth off, beep, flash and give many hand gestures. I just laughed as I, imo, did nothing in the wrong. And if anything, stopped him from doing something wrong.

Its a good idea when you can turn left on red lights though. Moves the traffic easily.

Happening more and more from what I can tell.Worse one is when you're waiting to turn, lights change and as you move off some idiot jumps them forcing you to

emergency brake.Which leaves you stranded like a lemon in the middle of the lights, hoping the road would open up and swallow you.

I'd definitely vote for more red light cameras.

One thing that I've seen a lot of lately, it's buses going through red lights.

I even saw two go through on red recently, one behind the other!

They've always done it. Particulary bad in Glasgow city centre.

Bristol buses do it too.

Mind you, as others have said, it's getting silly.

My bike instructor taught me to treat a green traffic light as nothing more than a give way sign, so I always check that the traffic has actually stopped at the red light. It's saved my bacon on more than one occasion. frown

There's a T-junction near me with lights on. The gap between one light going red and the other going green was increased a while ago, due to the amount of people running the red. So now, even more people run it!

I've gone through a couple of times on an amber, and thought I was pushing my luck, only to see 4 or 5 cars follow me!

There have been roadworks on my way to work for a while now where sewer systems are being replaced. Every morning people run read lights and cause gridlock when they meet people coming the other way. In Manchester, when one person stops, the person behind will often drive round and run the red light. When my uncle came up from Worcester he reckoned the intervals between the lights for one direction changing ro red and the others changing to green are longer round here than down there, presumably because more people run red lights round here.
