Have you ever seen any? I know there was a thread on here about scary things, but I mean things that have you scratching your head over whether or not something actually happened as you saw it?

I'll start with this - which I have tried to explain logically and have possible answers; but I know what I saw and where I saw it, and don't think those answers really do explain it.

It was 3 or so years ago in Turkey on Patara beach. My wife and I were sunbathing and swimming, and I noticed a local (or at least Turkish) family doing similar. They had children with them who were, as kids do, swimming and splashing about having fun and making noise.

One of the kids was sitting in the surf with the water coming up to just below his shoulders. One of the other lads ran past him out to sea. And here is the bit that I keep replaying - he was running ontop of the water, which was about 2ft or so deep. Just small splashes as his feet sank no mpre than an inch or so.

Yep, impossible. I couldn't have seen that. Or he was running along a sandbar. Or my perspective was wrong. I've tried them all, but knowing that stretch of beach (and checking out later if there was a sand bar) none of the 'explanations' that I cam up with could really explain what I saw.

I'm very pragmatic, don't usually 'see' things, 'know' I must be mistaken. However, I know what I saw....

A friend and I were once driving from Maidstone to Plymouth.
On one stretch of A-road we were in a queue of stop-start traffic.

The road / scenery / everything around us suggested we were stopped on an incline.
However, when my mate took his foot off the brake the car rolled forwards!
He did this several times, we looked at each other in bewilderment, then amusement, as we realised it must be an optical illusion.

Very weird, but could only have been a trick to the eye.
