A Gentleman's Car. A real gentleman that is....
Discussion
I have just been out and about for lunch in Mayfair and always find it refreshing to be around people that ooze class (not me obviously). Whilst I was strolling to my appointment I noticed a distinct lack of vulgar cars.
This has got me thinking; just what do the ladies and gents of a certain background choose to drive when visiting London that doesn't appear crass or over the top and yet provides a subtle hint that they appreciate the finer things in life?

The last time I tried to drive in London (coming into London from Reading - through Knightsbridge and into Marylebone) I felt it was some sort of perverse computergame.
It was late evening, dark and raining and I'd been set a challenge - the speed limit changed every 20m, lanes were designed like some sort of complex maze and speed and TL cameras were stationed all-over-the-place to laugh at my mistakes...
I suspect no-one tested that s
t when the roads weren't bumper-to-bumper - when the darkness/rain makes seeing white roadpaint much harder - or is it some right-of-passage?
I was, of course, being vulgar and had a VW contrivance with larger-than-standard appurtenances...

A lack of vulgar cars in Mayfair in August? It's chock full of blinged up cars on Golf plates at the moment!justayellowbadge said:
Sir requires, if I may be so bold, a Bristol.
Personally, I've always found a pair of Bristols offer a more comfortable ride.Edited by justayellowbadge on Thursday 25th August 13:51
Back on topic, of the few lords I've met - one rode a bike everywhere, another has a Forrester and a few British Shooting Green Landies, and the other was an old silver Merc. Most generally don't give a flying flip about the car they own as long as it's reliable.
