Shocked - Ford Fiesta s1600
Discussion
I was just looking through autotrader at some Fiesta's (2009+) for a friend who interested in buying one.
He likes in the new ford fiesta s1600 as they look a little different to the standard zetec s model with the leather seats, white wheels and racing stripes but something caught my eye which would surely be a mistake! Insurance group 17? I mean this car has the same 120bhp engine as the standard zetec s so why is it such a high insurance group?
Anyone on here have any idea's why?

Just had a look, the 'original' fiesta zetec s is insurance group 6

His best bet is to buy a standard white one for around £2k less, get the wheels sprayed white but will have to sacrifice the leather seats.

According to Parkers, the Zetec S is group 13:

After showing my friend this thread i think he is going to stick to a normal mk7 zetec s fiesta. He did two insurance qoutes and found that the s1600 is actually £360 more to insure than a standard zetec s on a 10 plate with simular value. Just for some stripes and white wheels
I say bring on the ST.
