Best way to get shot of a car?
Discussion
Sold an Auris to WBAC, overall painless (apart from the fact that they booked us an appointment for a day when that centre was closed, and we only found out an hour beforehand and 150 miles from home - long story). Comeback-wise, put it this way, we still haven't gotten around to sending off the V5, and that was back in March...

A friend took a half dead Nissan Micra with the side caved in to a dealer and the salesman offered a grand for it in part ex. They'll offer at least that for anything even if they know it'll just have to be carted off to the scrapyard.
Really? Perhaps if you were buying a car worth many thousands from them.Shotgun Rider said:

I sold an ill Impreza turbo to Webuyanycar and never had heard anything more about it.
Was a very painless experiance although they did knock off 100 for it having a towbar!
You couldn't make that up lol, bonkers! Was a very painless experiance although they did knock off 100 for it having a towbar!
Off topic, here's a completely unrelated quote from the song "Master Of The House" from Les Miserables:
When it comes to fixing prices
There are a lot of tricks he knows
How it all increases, all them bits and pieces
Jesus! It's amazing how it grows!

Back on topic, I'd eBay it as a whole piece if you don't want to break it. Someone will buy it.

Really, unless it's something good I always find dealers offer £250-£500 tops!I sold an old Vectra for £600 after being offered "Auction Price" of £250, in good condition, 120k, 5 months tax/mot

No they wont. Or if they do they'll move less on the sticker price. You wont 'make money' like this. Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
