Ive not long passed my test so have only tried a couple of decent ones, Uniroyal Rainsport 2s which I liked but the brand snobbery comes into it a bit for me, silly I know.. Ive now got Yokohama Parada Spec 2s up front and some crappy maxxis on the back (not good in the wet)

What would you say was the best tyres you've owned?

Feel free to have a seperate answer for wet and dry/summer and winter.

Vredestein Sporttrack 2 (preferred them to the 3 but the 3 looked better) which were amazing in the wet but the worst tyres I've used in the snow.

Goodyear Hydragrip were a massive step up from the crappy Yohohama Spec C that my MX5 came with. Suddenly I could actually use the power in the wet without needing a change of underwear.

Uniroyals next for the MX5 though, they get great reviews.

Michelin Pilot Sport Pax System 245-690 R520 A (front) and 365-710 R 540 A (rear) tyres.

For me would be a toss between Michelin Pilot Sport 2's and Continental Contact Sport 5's.

I've got Uniroyal Rain experts. Infinitely better than the Firestone + Continental + Kuhmo + Pirelli mixture when I got the car (those came straight off!).

Depends what car they're fitted to as synergy plays quite a large part of a tyre's performance.

In my experience, the Rainsport 2 is a decent tyre - particularly in the wet as you'd expect. The Parada Spec 2's were utter toilet.

Best at what?

AO48Rs for a dry track, AO21Rs for a wet track/road, CR322s for autotesting, Maragonis for snow, dumper tyres for mud etc

Bridgestone S03 are the best tyres I've had fitted to anything remotely sporty, but for all year round, all weather use (on a daily driver) Uniroyal Rain Experts have proved excellent.

Hankook RS-2s on my MX5. Only fast-road use, not track, but loads of grip in the dry and great fun in the wet. biggrin

As an all-round good road tyre, wet and dry, I've found Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD/Assymetric excellent.

Heard good things about the Vredesteins (cant remember which ones)

Anyone had experience with the Avon ZZ3s?

Im finding the parada spec 2s ok in the dry but poor in the wet, hard to tell with them only being on the fronts and crap ones on the back tbf.

Not sure whether to just put 2 parada spec 2s on the back or swap them all for something different.

Thinking Toyo Proxy T1Rs, Goodyear Eagle F1s, Contisport 2/3s, maybe the Avons. Few other things I need to get first ie coilovers. Just wondered what everyones favourites were

Michelin Pilot Sport Exelto 2's on my old clio 182 were an absolute peach! they didnt lead an easy life, they were getting quite low when I finished with them but they still did an awesome job

.

F1s, Contisport 2/3s,
I recall a Ford chassis engineer recommending the Vred's to me. The best tyres I've had so far are the F1's & the Conti's without doubt, really inspired confidence too. The best value tyre (so far) have been Fulda's. All susbjective of course.

For ordinary cars, I've been very impressed with the year round performance of the Vredestein Quattrac 3 - wet, dry, muddy tracks, snow and ice.

The Yokohama AD07s on the Elise are excellent.
