I'm looking to buy a dateless private plate.

I'm after a type with either 4 numbers with 2 letters or 3 numbers and 3 letters.

I can't seem to search for this option on the dvla website, is there a recommended website that anyone's knows of?

The DVLA website has a list of dealers on it, though it's not exhaustive. I'll see if I can find a link...

Google might be your friend too.

The only ones you describe offered by the DVLA will come up at auction.

Any idea what you might be after?

Have a search for classic cars on e-bay and limit it down to certain years (eg pre 1965) and see what cheap cars come up with interesting transferable registrations. You might get a cheap car and be able to sell it on once transferred.

Check the price of number plates on other sites before buying.

hehe I've only put that on one other thread, but I'll make sure I go to Boots tomorrow to get something for it.
Some plates are well known as in location wise, others we may know the location, we may have had the current owner contact us with a view to selling, it may have been offered to a fellow trader, or we may be able to locate it via other means (for instance I was told where a plate was seen a few times so I drove 200miles to see if I could locate it - I did and I got it for the client!).

If I email through your "contact us" section on your link does it go to you or to people working for you?.
