PH Challenge - Power and speed for £1000

Ok, so you need to find a car for sale today for £1000 or under. Taking manufacturers figures for top speed and bhp, you add these together for a points total, rules as follows:

- Has to be a genuine UK advert (posted link)
- Car has to be advertised as drivable (no write offs)
- Modifications not taken into account
- You need to show your workings

I will kick us off - £995

Standard WRX is 282bhp but Jap version limited to 110mph = 392 (good shout)

Ahhh, oh well, this opened my eyes to how much Saab you can get for a few beans! There is a 2001 auto saloon version going for £990 when did they get the extra 20bhp? It also seems the newer ones quote 260bhp in the ads.

Dont know if they are any good though??

Runs the S500 close, advert states the car is a runner if you keep it below 3k rpm

That is a hell of a lot of very scary barge. Nice. My plan was an E38 or E39 '40i, but someone beat me to it and this S500 outclasses it!
