Contemplating one of these as my daily, however in Norway where I live, a decently equiped 135 1.4 would be around 18000 pounds, whereas the Abarth would set me back around 24.000 pounds.

Seeing as the engine is largely the same ( 135 can be remapped to about 165), would the premium be worth it in your opinion?

Live a little, get the Abarth ;-) Are there any second hand ones in the market over there?

Can't you get a Volvo C30 with that lovely T5? I would imagine they are in that price range

Yeah, I'd go for the Abarth too if you can, it's the same engine (and quite rightly, can be mapped) but the abarth is also different in other ways.
The turbo on the abarth is bigger, it has a 6-speed gearbox, sports exhaust, the steering is heavier for more feel as the standard T-Jet is very light. The springs are also harder and 10mm lower. The track is 6mm wider too. There too is a thicker anti-role bar and re-profiled dampers etc. The list goes on.
I've driven both many times and can honestly say the Abarth feels much faster and much more planted.
Plus, you'll probably get the extra back when it comes to re-sale anyway.
The only thing problem could be that if it's being used as your daily driver, the harsher ride quality may irritate you, but best test drive one and see for yourself how it feels.

The Abarth is more likely to be worth more in a few years compared to the T-jet Sport. It will be quite sought after in a good few years!

If you can afford the difference then go for it. Yes, they are the same car underneith and they are the same engine, just a few different bits and a different map but the difference is like owning an Uno Turbo over a Uno 45 Forumula or a Golf GTI over a Golf Driver.
