I was given a wadge of Classic and Sportscar magazines the other day and have been pouring over photos of stunning pre war metal....stuff from the 30's just seems to have such a massive wow factor, real elegance and presence.

Just a few off the top of my head but pretty much anything from the decade seems to tick the box...

Just look at the size of the Royale...mental!! IIRC thats Mr Bug next to it.

That would make sense.

Just noticed on the photo that the front and rear wings/running boards are one continuous line, stunning.

There is also a decent article on the Schlumpf recreation of the Esders roadster body on a repro chassis with a spare railcar motor

Given the cost of fixing these cars when they go wrong, a very detailed inspection would be essential . . . . and censored

Cord
Deusenberg
Auburn

One day, I will have one of the above. The Auburn speedster in the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu is fabulous...

I've been watching a lot of videos on Jay Leno's site recently, amazed at the level of engineering in these cars and some of the clever solutions they found. Love the grille and exhausts on those Cords.

Well worth spending some time if you've never been there before http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/video/

That teardrop Bugatti is nice, but in my eyes it will always be second best to the Talbot Lago teardrop coupe by Figoni.

I love 1930's era cars. For my wedding in just over a week I've chosen a 1932 Lagonda 2L as transport. It's (hopefully) going to be one of the highlights of the day!
