Specific makes/models? if you have facts/figs. from somewhere that would be interesting or just from observation ... what do you think?

Lots of M3s seem to have them, mine included hehe

Pretty much anything north of a 3-series in Central London seems to have a private reg.

Also seems to be a lot of first-gen models of cars that have a dateless plate to obscure their age.

Definitely on X5's.

And more often than not the reg will include "X5" in it somewhere.

BMWs I'd say are prime for it. I've only had 2 cars with private plates. I didn't buy either plate because I think it's just a wee bit sad. But for the record, one was a BMW and the other was a Saab. The BMW had the cars model number on it and the Saab was a 'marriage' plate with the couple's initials. Guess they must have got divorced or else I wouldn't have got the plate with the car!

I wish I never looked at that bloody post. I can't help looking at the number plates of black RR Sports now banghead (and so far they've all been personalised numbers).

Seen a few X5 plates on 320's recently, I'm not sure if they were trading up or down though

Old Mercedes
Range Rover Sports that are 2yr's or older
Maybach/Phantom's very rarely seen one of these without a private plate when I do occasionally see one smile

WHITE Range Rover Sports and Porshe Cayennes nearly always have them, the former belonging on the "chav plate" thread and the latter on the "good plate" thread.
