Well as the title says really!

My issue is this- in the next few weeks ill be looking to upgrade from my clio 182 to something a bit more grown up! And I've managed to so far narrow my search down to 2 cars! An audi S3(57-59 plate) or a mazda rx8 r3!

For me petrol consumption won't be a massive issue as the car will only be used fr trips to the gym and weekend outings!

For me the audi has more class than a clio but the mazda r3 looks more fun!

I'd be heading to the mazda shop!

Its a proper sports coupe!

The Audi is just a tedious hatchback!

I would keep your clio in preference to the audi!

yea that's how I would normally see it, I prefer cars that are a bit rarer! For example there's only 8 r3's for sale within 60miles of me most having done less than 20k! But there's 6 billion audis for sale!

Does anyone know if the whole compression issue has been sorted with r3's? Or will it need a rebuild at 50k?

(^^^Another reason I thought audi)

If it was my money I would go Audi, as much as i love the rx8 I think the depreciation would scare me off.

Surely there would be a fairly significant difference in purchase price, and the Mazda you may find pretty difficult to sell if you decide to get rid in the future. The Audi would be my choice due to the solid build, slower depreciation and turbo shove, but they are pretty different engines.

Purchase price isn't a massive issue, if I got the mazda I'd have more money for coke and hookers, and lush holidays!

It does seem very 50/50 between them though!
