On another thread I saw someone say their past cars had names, do you anthropomorphise your car as I have never had the urge ?
Used to go in the local pub and this halfwit called John used to collar us and talk about his Fiesta which he had christened "Fiona", now he was a little "Special" so I can forgive him, the other excuse is being female and even then it only partly mitigates this trait, usually girly girls with pink "girls" cars and many teddies or new age types that rattle on about Chakra and s
t like that. My wife has an old Fiat 500 and thankfully that is just known as "The Fiat" by her or "Heap", s
t Heap", "Rattling Deathtrap", "Bain of my life" by me, it has not been given a cutesy Italian name like Luigi or Mario, its a car not a pet, I think the dog only got a name as the kids wanted one and the vets said that "Dog" wouldnt work on their system, also, naming your children appears to be mandatory, social services apparently only allow thinks Like "Child A" when there is an ongoing investigation, not just for lazy parents.
So, do you name your car, if so, why and do you intend to seek help ?

Sadly a lot of classic owners are afflicted with this annoying disease, these are generally the types that have a garage potato that just gets polished and put in a field while other "car namers" come up and say "I had one of those but mine had the zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz."
However track day and race types do not seem so afflicted unless you know otherwise!

Some of mine get names, some don't, depends on the car. Had a Mini once called Merv The Swerve but even the ones I named didn't really get called by name. I blame my mate who christened his first Anglia, Eric, but even at age 51 he still insists on giving all his family and friends stupid nicknames.

I think I'd probably name my own A4 if I could think of a German girl's name I liked..
My Golf is called Gretchen and I had an Alfasud once called Gina. A Corvette named Nadine, a Mustang named Rosie... Wait, I've said too much....Edited by LuS1fer on Thursday 1st September 14:01
This thread is making me want to get a black Dodge Challenger SRT-8.
Just for the fact I can call it 'Black Betty' and have this song playing over and over again.
