A few weeks ago posted about my Boxster that was about to be sold only for it to start making strange noises, well since then a lot of money and time spent getting it all sorted including a full service and new water pump.

Car running great and new owner pleased with his purchase - then as he gets home sounds like one of the front radiators has let go !!!!!

Dont you just love cars :-)

I find if a car makes a bit of a funny noise, then threaten to sell it, and the noise goes away......

So yes, they know.

I've got rid of many cars, usually because of some kind of impending mechanical doom. Once the replacement car was signed for / agreed, the problems nearly always went away.

Cars also have feelings. Be nice to them. A good clean can even fix a snapped cambelt.

I'm sure my car knows when it's being discussed. Last time I thought about changing my car (and didn't), I had an intermittent turbo sensor fault. Thankfully it's now found and fixed.

I'm keeping any conversation about changing my car out of earshot, since she's currently running pretty well. wink

Nope. Took my surplus-to-requirements Fabia VRS out for a motorway spin today and, after sitting for a couple of weeks, she started up great as always and didn't miss a single beat the whole 100+ mile journey.

Also: If anyone wants her, she's in the classifieds.

Shameless?

Yes they know.

When you're in the trade - they usually tend to show this when you're on test drive with a prospective buyer at the wheel, despite having never shown a slight inclination to misbehave.
