Mate at work has a Xsara Picasso and recently on a long run the car was losing power from what I can work out it was almost going into safe mode. He had a garage run diagnosticson it and the fault code was for the throttle sensor? Having a quick google it seems it may be a throttle position sensor does anyone have any idea if that sounds right and if so how easy is it to change?

Thanks in advance

If anything like most of these, should be no more than a screw or two and an electrical connector. On my old Focus diesel it was a pedal unit in the car, on the Rover 45 diesel I had it was under the bonnet at the end of a short cable from the pedal.
