Admiral wanted £1200 to renew my youngest daughters insurance. Sheilas wheels (another if their companies) wanted £750. So Admiral price matched..
Sheilas wheels wanted £800 to renew eldest daughters. Elephant (another of their companies) wanted £510. So Sheilas wheels price matched.
£740 saved by making 2 phone calls. No doubt we'll have the same merry-go-round next year. I wonder how many people get caught by 'year 2 price hike'!!

This DOES happen between Admiral's brands but as said, Sheilas Wheels is not one of them.

No one seems to be matching quotes for me at the moment! Admiral are the best so far (£570), all the others I've phoned have been nearer £900...when I say my best quote is £570 they say its a great price and to go for them!

Sorry I meant Diamond! Here's what I should have said:-

Admiral wanted £1200 to renew my youngest daughters insurance. Diamond (another if their companies) wanted £750. So Admiral price matched..
Diamond wanted £800 to renew eldest daughters insurance. Elephant (another of their companies) wanted £510. So Diamond price matched.

The majority of insurance companies hike the price in the 2nd year. It's just a fact of life that you need to shop around every year and either negotiate with current insurer or go with whichever is best for you.

Tried to renew my daughter(19yrs old) insurance through Direct Line as it was my personal insurance company..
They Quoted £1850 fully comp with a years no claim bonus..
So hunted around and Elephant quoted £695 all in..
It's sad but loyalty don't count with companies..
Liked you best phone around it could save hundreds if not thousands of pounds..

Last year I couldn't get within £100 of my auto renewal price with Elephant, including their sister companies and Elephant as a new customer. So doesn't always work like that!
