This happend to my dad years ago, in france(!), he removed the rear quater pannel somehow
at the pack of the rear door windows, and pushed my sister (5 at the time through, to go get it.
to some interesting looking by french people walking past... (e class merk)
As for your situation now, hatchback? Smash the back window? Then just grit your teeth and buy a replacement.

I Can open boot if I get into the car.
How does the boot open from in the car - button / lever/What the bearkdown guys sometimes do is put wedges in the top of the drivers door to prise it open a bit and then use a wire coathanger type of thing to open the door. Doesn't work if the car is deadlocked.

I did this in one of my old cars, wish I'd just smashed a pane of glass in the end. I could never get the door to bend back to its original position which resulted in a lot of wind noise on motorways. I'm such an idiot, I bent the drivers side door. At least the noise wouldn't have been right in my ear if i did the other side. What the bearkdown guys sometimes do is put wedges in the top of the drivers door to prise it open a bit and then use a wire coathanger type of thing to open the door. However OP, bending the door is a really easy way of getting into a locked car.
I presume that your key fob has a seperate button for opening the boot? Why the hell do manufacturers do this? There must be hundreds of people who just open the boot, lift it open, put the keys inside along with luggage and then slam the boot shut again which locks as soon as it's shut. It's a completely pointless feature - I've fallen foul of it myself. I always just open the whole car now if I want to get into the boot.

My FIL did it a few weeks ago. His solution was to knock on someone's door to use their phone to call me and command me to bring his spare key!Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
