I want to rent a car in Fuertaventura on Tuesday, but I've been looking online and it seems that you need to leave a credit card imprint when you rent the car. I'm 22, but I don't have a credit card. I was hoping to book it on my parents credit card but then apparently you still need a credit card when picking up the car.

Does anyone know if it's possible to book a car without owning a credit card?

They might take a cash deposit? I'd also imagine they'd take a debit card if you don't have a credit card.

It will be a security thing incase you don't fuel the car or damage it

I like Deadmau5. When I rented in CA a debit card was enough, they block an amount of money out on it though, make sure you have enough

I've tried to ring but they're all shut so I'll have to ring tomorrow.

Thanks for the responses.

Everywhere I've been in Europe you need to be 25 to rent a car, so I've always rented a ropey moped (23). Worth checking?

Assuming you don't have kids or anything, rent a quad bike. I did this, safer than a moped,'good for getting 2 people about and very cheap. I did 100km in a day on one whilst away. That was a bit much :-)
