The new Cayenne *cough* Eterniti...

Eterniti Motors (remember them? They're creating a new luxury car brand based in London, along with the 'world's first super-SUV') has revealed a smidge more information about its new luxury Super-SUV thingy - along with a new picture.

The Hemera, as it's been called, will be based on a heavily revised Porsche Cayenne, and will undergo a chassis-up rebuild, with a new, repackaged interior, carbon-composite body panels and the inevitable power upgrade (though we don't yet know the exact specifications).

Inside, the rear passengers in particular will be well looked-after, with twin reclining seats, iPads and a drinks chiller (not to store the iPads in...).

Leading the engineering team developing the Hemera is Alastair Macqueen, who was responsible for the development of the XJ220 project at Jaguar, and who helped steer both Jaguar and Bentley to Le Mans victories. Eterniti has also drafted in Johnny Hebert to help develop the cars.

The company is also establishing what it calls a 'London Hub'. This will act as showroom, factory-in-miniature and service centre. All of which is very interesting, but we still haven't seen the car. We'll have to wait until the Frankfurt show next week for that...

Paint in a lurid colour - Check
Recover the seats and add a bigger sound system - Check
Put 22" wheels all round - Check
Black out the windows - Check
Chip the ECU - Check
Take teaser photos of the 'ground up re-engineered standard Porker' and release to the media - Check
Get some former big names to endorse it, even if they have no real input and have nothing to give to an SUV make-over project - Check
Persuade some footballers to put a deposit down and take them to your lock-up in Stevenage, sorry 'London hub', to see some more sketches and paint swatches - Check

It will end up being 90% Porshe Cayenne parts, no faster than the Turbo S, no more luxurious than a RR and probably 200% the cost of either - but it will be exclusive (which seems to sell stuff like this?)

I suspect punters from the middle East and far East will be all over this like flies on sh!t.

If they want some cred for it i'll race one on the British Cross Country Championships next year. All they'll have to do is fund the building of a car and the spares/fuel package for next season.

I reckon 200k should do it.

Lets face it, if it's supposed to be a luxury barge it won't need a power upgrade.

Therefore I'll add it to the pile of bling-tastic cars for people with more money than sense, of which there seems to be a huge supply.

Still, a UK firm may as well have a % of the tasteless market as much as anyone else, so good luck to 'em
