I've been trying to sell my Daewoo Tacuma (i know...calm down at the back) for ages and have really had very little interest. It's keenly priced and has been in the local paper, ebay etc...but nothing. Car itself if pretty damn perfect for the year, with 2 owners, 84k, new MOT and a FSH (2002 car)

Im guessing people think Daewoos are a bit exotic, hard to get parts for maybe? which is a bit of a myth. Also i guess the fact it's a 1.6 petrol puts most of the 2.4 children brigade off frown

Decided to put it on ebay with no reserve earlier so hey ho frown

I know times are lean and trying to shift anything big/fast/exotic is hard but is the market generally deflated at the minute or is it people dont fancy Korean chariots? wink

I've been thinking about selling my car, but having seen similar examples sitting at dealers for months, I think I may just run it into the ground instead (except I fear it may refuse to die for a while yet). Damn it! I wanna change cars irked

Well I've just paid £1200 for a Focus estate TDCI with similar miles/age that does 55mpg & is £125 a year to tax, a petrol one of yours has really only got to be worth £500 & you'll still have no takers. Then again it wont be breaking down in a hurry!

It'd make a good shed motor this week I'm guessing scratchchin

Yep sorry but you're probably asking too much. No one is looking for a Daewoo Tacuma (sort of people who buy them don't know anything about cars - in general) so you're always struggling.

£700 to £800 max, but I'd hawk it round some dealers, might do OK in the trade for families wanting cheap transport.

Not top of anyones list, not because its a bad car, just guess its so rare, nobody is searching for them, think you need to do a 1 p start on Ebay, amazing how people spot things then and then they get bidding.

This thread.

Hard to shift cars? Seems like most cars are getting harder to sell these days. My 120d is proving a nightmare to sell, even stuck it on eBay at 99p (with the reserve set at the p/ex price) and I got nothing. Advertising on AT also resulted in just Nigerian oceanographers wanting to buy it. frown

Er, feel compelled to ask if anybody wants an 07 1er for 10 grand.

Buyers market rules, been looking at countless Alpinas and big engined BM's / Mercs etc.

Currently waiting for an E38 728i sport i'm watching to drop to uunder 2.5k and I'll buy it !..... 83K on the clock full BMWSH etc and 29 miles from me. It has been on the market for a while, big thirsty cars arn't shifting.

My Dad saw an ML430 with 74K on the clock with partial MBSH, TV screens in the back, mint paint work (silver), 2 new tyres, tax for another 8 months go for £1750 at the auctions the other day !

You'd know it will be an ugly, tacky, botched together hatchback kind of thing though I bet! Quite endearing how the OP refers to it as 'exotic' though. biggrin Wants £1k for it too when you can get a similar age but much better spec/engined Focus or Astra for that.
