What is the best way to find out if a car dealer is reputable or not? I have searched for feedback on Google, but I cant find anything, good or bad about them. It's a specialist, not a main dealer.

You could always post the name up on here and ask for feedback via PM to avoid N&S.

There is a small risk the thread will turn a bit nasty, but you should at least find out if there are any horror stories.

I did this with a marque specific specialist that I was considering visiting and it was well worth my while (though the thread got locked in the end)

I fully understand the naming and shaming policy - avoids all sorts of legal stuff.

I have also thought a sticky about good to deal with businesses would be a decent idea. For example the indy that I use for my tyres and used to use for my MGs is a cracking little outfit. Honest, not expensive for servicing, looking to save you a quid if they can, tyres are better value than any on line firm. Promises kept, good attitude, like it if you are interested in cars, but great with the old dear who comes in with her 10 year old Micra. Family run good decent local business. They are in North Shields near TYNEmouth and sell TYRES. I'd love to sing their priases.
