Got a rental car today to drive to Ottawa.

The sin part is, I quite liked it... Full leather, nice dashboard, all the toys, ate up a 4 hour drive like it was nothing...

Couldn't test the handling, I'm in Canada after all, but it did the job asked of it fantastically and in comfort...

Mine was fine, 170HP so it wasn't going to be too much of a slouch, gave it back today, enjoyed driving it but wouldn't buy one, it didn't handle fantastically and the brakes were dire.

What a dumb thing to say considering the majority of cars on British roads have a lot less than 170hp and many are autos.

I had a Chevrolet Malibu a few years ago. It was brilliant and i would love another. Only sold my old one as it needed more work doing than i could justify.


It was probably a bit older than your hire car though..

0-60 in 8.8s is pretty decent for a Mondeo-sized car with an auto gearbox. Built on the same platform as the Vauxhall Insignia, right?
