Driving experience day on Saturday
Discussion
Looking forward to driving a Gallardo and a 360 on Saturday.
Not sure wether the Gallardo is a manual or an E-Gear.
Would it be strange using the paddles? Would I get used to using them over the course of the few laps i'll get?
I'm really looking forward to the 360. I'm more of a Lamborghini fan but I love the look of the 360 and also read that the sound that they produce is amazing.
Just hope the instructors in a way don't hold me back, I don't mean as in to let me thrash the car but to actually reach speeds safely which I intend to do. Can't wait

I've done quite a few experience drive things.
The first time I used flappy paddles (Gallardo) I was a bit nervous, but you get used to it really quickly and your less likely to fluff a gear change than youy are with a manual gearbox, you'll love it!
You didn't say where you are having your day, but most instructors I've driven with, at several locations, have been most reasonable.
Besides, I wouldn't want to totally thrash the wotsits off someone elses supercar and risk running out of talent (which I probably have very little of when it comes to driving supercars anyway) and stuffing it into the scenery.
Listen to the instructors, do as they say, and you may give them the confidence to push you a little.
Have fun!

I did a experience day at Elvington, in the 360, with flappy paddles. Into first, off we go, went to change gear, stood on the clutch.....oh, hang on, it doesn't have one....that'll be the brake then. Nearly put the instructor, and all his belongings through the front windscreen. He threatened to put his ball-point pen through my knee-cap if I did it again....I didn't, and had a great few laps, with him pushing me on all the time. Flappy paddles weren't an issue after the initial debacle.
Finished off with a passenger ride in an M3, which was quite awesome, never been so quickly round a corner in me lfe, big respect for the BMW.
