I'm sure I spotted a BMW M7 in the train station car park the other morning but I can't find any mention of one existing, brand spanking new it was.

ha, possibly, however it didn't say M730d, just M7, but it might have been a 5... I was driving past at the time. T'was definitely the latest shape.

would anyone really be that sad to fart about with the badge on a brand new car?

An E38 M7 would have been awesome. There is no such thing as an M7 in any guise. M Sport 7 yes, but that's pretty much cosmetic.
