Just did a search within 40 miles of me (Oxford) for diesels under £3k and Autotrader is flooded with obviously bogus ads like this:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/search/used/cars/postc...

All under the name of Buckingham Ford....anyone seen this before??

No brainer isn't it - I too thought 'scam' but checked the 'Why buy from this dealer?' link and it says

Buckingham Ford

We are a family owned and managed ford franchised dealer. Offering a hassel free purchasings experience backed up by fully trained ford technicians with knowledgeable and helpful aftersales staff.

I have therefore transferred the money for all current stock via Western Union - you snooze, you lose!

I would have thought A.trader might have clamped down on them, there's loads of fake 3 series ads out there too, but in reality, if they're getting paid for the advert, they probably dont give a st.

Yet the actual link to dealer's website does actually link to the real Buckingham Ford website - who would probably be very interested to know about the cars on AT that they don't feature in their own stock that all have pictures taken in different locations inviting contact by hotmail only.

I thought scammers would have got a bit sharper than this by now, surely...

You're leaving your postcode open to public view if you're a bit paranoid about stuff like that.
