Hi

Maybe am doing something wrong but most times when i select reverse on the car it will roll slightly then make a bang noise an go into gear. Is there something wrong with the car?

Thanks

OH and the airbag light is on - think it's the drivers curtain one. Will it still work? Cause forgot to take it into the garage when it still had warrenty.

It shouldnt clunk like that, mine doesn't. You might need the clutches adjusting or have bigger problems looming.

Airbags wont work if the light is on. It's warning you there is a system fault that needs to be looked at.

Mine doesn't 'bang' but dsg boxes are awful in reverse even when working well.

I hate reverse parking the TT as it hops and bounces like I'm a learner frown

Can't say I've had that problem - reverse is smooth on mine and no problems generally.

The OP sounds like he has a box on the way out, there are known mechatronic issues with the six-speed 'wet clutch' DSG boxes which seem to have affected quite a few people.

Symptoms are a reluctance to go into reverse/inability to reverse up an incline, a lag when pulling away from stationary position and jumpy changes at lower speeds.

Thanks - I think i may have exaggerated abit with the "bang" it may be i do not give it enough time to let it go into gear. The car has only 77k on done 27k in a year non motorway driving though.
