As above.
Scamera van on way to work,no rush on my part just moving along, come over brow of hill and this is the result.I wonder if a real traffic officer would have been interested?

And yes I know,if you break the limit it's your own fault ,blah ,blah blah.

Well it's over the 30mph + 10% limit. You deserve it, I'm 'fraid.

I believe in some counties it's 10% + 2mph. Happy to be corrected smile

That was just a 'gentleman's agreement'. Not written in the law.

Very harsh. But probably fair.

Still waiting to find out if I'm going to manage to wriggle out of being done for the same in January.

I think its bks personally, and I'd be cheesed...

But to get a "real" 35 mph,you must've been doing 40 ish indicated?

Im no saint, dont get me wrong, but in a 30 zone,I pretty much keep to 30 indicated.

And then there is the old argument of your speedo over reading so would have been showing closer to 40mph in a 30 to you.

Not always, on my car the speedo is exactly the same as a GPS speedo up to about 40.

That's because speeding is just as bad as stabbing someone according to the Mad Mullah.

I was guilty as charged for being caught doing 35 in a 30. Offered a Speed Awareness course by Thames Valley Police. £95 to be patronised for 3 1/2 hours.

Didn't want points on my licence.

Pretty sure my speedo was on 37 mph when I glanced at it.
Not really complaining,it just didn't feel like I was driving in such a way to endanger others and therefore need punishing.

Break the law, suffer the consequences... yes, a lot of speed limits are bloody stupid, but like any other law you break them knowing what will happen if you get caught. I don't think you can really complain.

I got the choice of 3 points or the SAC for 34 in a 30. Unlucky, just suck it up and move on.

i know what your getting at as in when you know you are speeding you'd liey accept the points if caught but when you genuinly didn't realise you feel its unfair. However if that was the basis for getting off the points everyone woud say it all the time.

to balance it out think of the times you've probably been let off speeding when you should have been "done" so far im probaby 5-1 up on let offs to my 1 actual genuine didn't realise when i got points.
