Had my Audi die on me today and the AA man left scratching his head. The AA guy plugged his computer in an the fault reader came up with the following codes:

P0101 – Mass or Volume Air Flow
P0299 – Turbo Charger underboost
P0402 – EGR Flow

Its really strange the car will start up and will idle for about 10 seconds then just cut out. He spent some time looking at it and in the end gave up and told me to get a garage to look at it. Now need to try to find a Audi specialist in the area to look at it. Very annoyed as only had the car for a month, and the reason I choose it was due to the meticulous Audi history it had.

Any ideas what the issue can be, he said it was likely to be one of the above but not all three?

My intial thoughts before the AA man got here was it was a fuelling problem, almost like its got some dirty diesel in it or a blockage, has just under half a tank of fuel, but the error code reader did not bring anything fuel related up.

Not sure how to diagnose a fuel pump.
The AA guy unplugged the maf. The car was running for about 20 seconds then died again

The combination of those fault codes points me towards the egr valve sticking open which would explain the boost and egr codes. The maf one will more than likely be because it has been contaminated from the exhaust gases in the inlet (transits suffer from contaminated maf when the egr valve sticks open)

The AA guy said the same. If this is the issue what kind of figures would I be looking at to get it sorted and what would I need.
