Evoque vs XC60 vs Q5
Discussion
Basically wife has narrowed it down to one of these 3
Which would you recommend or you couldnt go wrong with either of these 3?
Any other suggestions of similiar
Experiences of any of these?
She has drove the Evoque albeit for 2 minute, liked it, but small boot was the only drawback
kids , prams, shopping blah blah..

I'm pretty sure the Evoque isn't a competitor to the other two.
It'd be Evoque / BMW X1 / Ford Kuga, surely?
From most reviews im reading these are all main competitorsIt'd be Evoque / BMW X1 / Ford Kuga, surely?
Think i saw this or last months whatcar mag had a 4 car shootout
evoque 1st
xc60 2nd

If you can cope with poorer (but not too bad) fuel economy there are some stunning deals on xc90s at the moment - when we bought ours it was actually cheaper than any xc60 we could've got. Superb cars and loads of space.

How much evoque could you get for that money?

What about the X3?
This - the X3 is an extremely practical car, the new one is excellent with decent boot space. Pricing is very competitive too (you could have a 255bhp 3.0d X3, 0-60 in 6.2, for the same price as an Evoque) and cheaper to run than any of the others.Or the FL2 - the Volvo and Evoque are small inside, the Q5 rides like a skateboard, so none of those for me

I have the same dilemma.
Evoque is tiny – it's more like the X1 or (soon to be released) Q3.
It's a compact SUV not a medium sized one.
The Freelander 2 was horrible to drive. A big wobbly mess.
Volvo XC60 would have been a contender, except the passenger footwell has a weird shape to it over the wheel arch.
I just couldn't get past neither me nor the misses wanting to sit in the passenger seat.
I did seriously consider the Subaru Forester.
It's got a nice 2l diesel engine on a manual gearbox, or a petrol on auto.
It's a very nice car, take a look at it if you have a local dealership.
In the end thought, I think I've decided on the 3L Q5 with a panoramic roof.

That offer was for the absolute top-spec: massage seats, ventilated leather, 27(ish) surround stereo, Nav, Cruise, etc. etc. etc. etc. I'm seriously tempted to chop mine in (59 plate XC90 D5 Active) and go for this. ISTR you can get an Active (still nice spec, for £25k or so new. I've lost £4k on the value of it in 2 years. It has been around forever, will still take a look though
