wheel balancing

where can i get some stick on weights? not internet pls ... also can having the locking nuts taken out of a wheel affect balance (cos i've lost my key)!

Once you've procured your stick on weights, how do you propose to balance your wheels? Trial and error?

Why not just go to a garage?
Catch them on a good day, be friendly and chatty and they will balance your wheel for free or for a few ££.

cheers - will do ... can the balancing be thrown off by missing wheel lock nuts?

I doubt it.
Garages balance the wheels on a jig without any nuts attached so I don't imagine the wheel nuts have any impact at all.

You'll never be able to balance a wheel by trail and error!

Wheel nuts have little affect on the balancing because there close to the central axis on rotation.

balancing is only around £5 per wheel, probably cost more to buy the weights and you will never get it right. stop being tight and take it down to your local tyre dealer!
