Hi All,

Looking to get an idea of what would be the correct/ resonable amount to get for scrapping a:

2000 Merc A Class (major problems, car broken)

Anyone can advise what they have gotten in the past or approx what to expect?

Whack it on Ebay as spares / repairs . . . . otherwise £50-100 if you weigh it in smile

Going rate is about £150 these days but you would definitely get more selling it on eBay as spares or repair.

Defo an eBay one that, even without an engine that's worth more on there than you would get for scrap

Conversly it's a Merc and the as such the parts are worth some reasonable cash, Merc parts aren't cheap and you have a car worth, so selling on E-bay spares or repairs or break it strip some of the bigger parts and sell them then scrap it off.

My Alfa 146 went for £230 collected last week, so you wouldn't be far away from £190-200 I suspect.

Not excatly sure whats wrong, but the garage said it would cost more to fix than its worth.

I was suprised too with it clonking out, but its was a company car and staff mistreated it.

its a my2000

Ebay is showing £500ish max

Whats the process in scrapping, must be some dvla forums.

Phone scrappy to agree price and collection.
Hand over car.
Complete trader/disposal section of logbook.
Receive cash.
Post off said completed section of logbook.
The scrappy, being a pukka ELV centre, informs the DVLA that the car has been destroyed.
