Where do we stand on car covers? Good or No so Good?
Discussion
I ride to work everyday on the bike, keeping the car outdoors in the driveway for weekend work but she is getting ruined by trees dirt birds etc.
Car cover seems like a good idea but do they trap in water as much as they keep out?
I had one over a bike one winter and when I removed it the poor bike looked the Mary Rose! Water ran under it on the ground then evaporated up and got trapped on my shiny bits which slowly died.
So yes or no? Car is an 01 M5 if that is any relevance at all.

I didched mine. The problem is that when the cover's all wet and covered in bird droppings, where do you put it when you drive? In the boot, soaking and filthy? In the house?
And when you put it back on, soaking and filthy and manky, how do you keep the inside surface dry? You can't... leaving rainwater and bird droppings rubbed against the inside.
I'll just wash/polish my car more often, and keep saving for a house with a proper garage.
