My Fiance is in the process of choosing a new car, and a new 2012 RR Sport (5ltr V8 non supercharged) is currently her top choice. I'm nervous about reliability, Internet research indicates they don't have a good record. Is this still the case, or have things improved with the newer models?

True, but its not a lot of fun if you keep having to take the car back for faults, or if you live on the East Coast of the US which gets hammered by snow from December through to March and don't want reliability problems.

I wouldn't believe the hype. The last 2 Discos my Mrs had (LR3 and 4 in US speak) were both utterly reliable as have other family members with FFRRs. That's not to say lemons don't exist but that's true of any make.

A client has just got rid of his, he was sick of the endless faults with it. It was in and out of the dealers due to problems with the air suspension IIRC. Chopped it in for a 730d.

(I only know about that as I know someone here with one... honest...)

Definitely no "vanity plates" going on the car!!

Google warranty and reliability data for that model.

Lots of it available for US market vehicles.

I now live in North America. The only engine options here are 5.0 V8 HSE (non supercharged) or 5.0 V8 Supercharged.

Yes I did - the JD Power reports are fairly dismal - 2 out of 5 stars for mechanical reliability. I was hoping I might get some responses from owners on here as to their experiences.

She looked at one, it left her cold though, couldn't find any sort of attachment to it that would make her want one.

Mrs T has been running a 2008 TDV8 - by all accounts the reliability on these from actual owners I've spoken to is pretty good. Certainly no issues so far (touch wood) and it's a capable comfortable place to be. I must be getting old as I wanted mrs T to choose a FFRR, but she liked the harder suspension set up on the Sport.
