Hi All,

So I needed a run around to take me through winter as well as taking the rubbish to the recyle centre.

So I dont really know much about them....but pick it up Monday:

2001 - 51
Saab 9-3 coupe
2.2 diesel
135k with fully service history
bright red
a couple of scratches here and there
Manual
half leather

So can anyone know much about them??!!

If you got it for the right price that's a nice car, congratulations.

I'm gonna spend £5 on it and a lot of hard elbow grease!

I think it will actually look fairly respectable. Body work is pretty good and interior is immaculate with a "turbo" embossed into the leather, nice and retro...well sort of.

Me an my dad had 93 TIDs for about a 8 year period covering over 100k between us at over 40mpg.

For the bulk of our ownership there were largely no problems other than heavy front tyre wear and the EGR system getting clogged up which really restricts the performance.

Other issues seemed to be the paint isn't that tough and lacquer was quite thin, the 2.2 is't the smoothest of engines but is sufficiently punchy. The dash digital display will probably lose a few lines but there is a fix on saab scene forum (well worth a visit.) If you need any engine parts always enquire at the Vauxhall dealer as well as I found that some components were far cheaper than from Saab.

As tip cars they are immense with a boot like a bottomless pit once the rear seats are down, oh an the rear suspension can take some serious abuse - we chucked far too many concrete blocks in one of them til the mud flaps were nearly on the floor and it survived.

Thanks all,

The boot is truely massive, probably bigger than our c-clas estate!!

Thanks for the heads up on the EGR valve clog up....how do I know this needs doing before it is too late?
