Wee bit early isn't it? Not even had to scrape the screen yet never mind wipe off the snow.

It's one of those bd things that fresh tyres seem more likely to get punctures...

Where do you live? I'm still in shorts and t-shirt here (Bath). Is it consistently sub-7C with you?

Statistically, most punctures happen in the last 10% of a tyres life.

Is that skewed by the fact that most replace a punctured tyre? So a puncture IS the last day of a tyre's life for most.

I've had two nails in a tyre... both about a week after having a tyre fitted.

I assume that you're equally likely to pick up a nail at any time, but it would seem that sod's law has been out to get me.

It was 21 degrees here today (Herts) I hope you make sure you're taking your thermos and a warm blanket with you in case you get stranded.

I'm in Scotland - down to 7c here, but that's not the point. I've got winter tyres on because they cost me £20 fitted, secondhand, cheapest tyres I could get while I investigate my tracking problems. Typically, while I look at scrub, etc. some bugger decides to empty a packet of nails on the road. s.

So are they actually winter tyres or just some cheapo black rings you've put on for a while ?

BTW. I'm in Sweden and we don't even have winter tyres on here yet.

They are actual winter tyres - that is why they are so cheap - no-one wants them. Even in Scotland...

I left my winters on all year. They seem to be wearing better than the summers I used to use, and were cheaper (bought at the right time).

I'm taking my time - easier to see after a longer period.

So to clarify OP, you are moaning that you got a puncture in your £20 tyre?

No one likes tyre punctures, do they? Be it car or bike.
